Ronald Lee "Hillbilly" Wilson

Ronald Lee “Hillbilly” Wilson, age 73, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at his home with family by his side.  He was born July 29, 1949, in Mariemont, Ohio, the son of the late Richard and Juanita (Johnson) Wilson.  Ronnie was a truck driver his entire career.  Most recently he had driven for Jones Farms of Spring Valley.  He enjoyed old cars and attending “cruise ins”.  He has owned many old classics, but never thought he should have a car he couldn’t drive and enjoy.  He also enjoyed Blue Grass music, something he was exposed to from his family, “The Wilson Boys” who played blue grass all over Kentucky.  Ronnie is survived by his wife, Karen Sue (Sherman) Wilson, to who he married January 4, 1968, in Wise, Virginia; daughters, Ronda Wilson of Dayton, Ohio, and Patty (Mark Shinkle) Singer of Williamsburg, Ohio; four grandchildren, Todd Cooper of Wilmington, Tiffany Cooper of Owensville, Josh (Whittney) Wilson of Sabina, and Ashley (Josh) Bezold of Clarksville; great grandchildren, Brian Singer, Wesley Blankenship, Isabella Smith, Natalie Huffman, Rhyan Smith, Leah Leadmon, Hunter Wilson, and Asher Bezold; sister Rita Jarvis of Texas, Merie Andrade of Texas, Crystal Gilbert of Texas, Robyn Riser of Kentucky, and Roberta Waugh of Kentucky; brothers Dennis (Janice) Gilbert Texas, and Andrew Gilbert of Texas; and many friends  and C.B. Friends who knew him by the handle “Hillbilly”.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Scott and Mary Belle Johnson, who raised him; sister Brenda Delgado; brother Frank Gilbert; and brother-in-law and best friend, Gerald Jarvis.   Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.  Burial will follow in the Bloom Rose Cemetery in Brown County, Ohio.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  For more information, or to leave an on-line condolence, please visit www.arehart-brown.com, or see our Facebook page, Brown Funeral Home.
