Rowena Jane (McDermott) Stanfield

Rowena Jane Stanfield (McDermott), age 88, of Wilmington, passed away in the comfort of her home on July 8, 2024, with family by her side. She was born in Greenfield, Ohio, February 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Earl and Hyason (Wilson) McDermott and later married her loving husband, Jim Stanfield, on March 27, 1965, in Kentucky. Along with her husband, Rowena is survived by her daughter Gayle (Jason) Davis; sister, Judy Stewart; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Flaugher and Leone Chillinsky; and her in-laws Charles and Mary Stanfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday July 12, 2024, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Wilmington. Father Michael Holloran will be the Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington.
