Roy Edward "Ed" Earley, age 74, of Wilmington, passed away at his home Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born January 8,1947 in Wilmington, the son of the late Roy and Wanda (Wertz) Earley. He was a 1965 Graduate of Wilmington High School. Ed had worked many years as an electrician with the Local 82 I.B.E.W. in Dayton, he had also worked at Navistar in Springfield, and I.B.E.W. 402. He was a member of the Wilmington Lodge #52 Free and Accepted Masons, and the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite. In his younger years, Ed enjoyed playing softball, and coaching softball at Clinton Massie and Wilmington schools. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting with his dog "Brownie". In more recent years, he enjoyed fishing, and most especially watching his grandsons play sports. Ed is survived by his wife, Nancy (Floyd) Earley, to whom he married June 8, 1968, in Wilmington; daughters, Lisa Brown and Amanda (Greg) Golsch; grandsons, Drake Pence and Dane Golsch; as well as many extended family members and friends. Ed is preceded in death by his father, Roy Earley; mother Wanda (Wertz) Collins; and step-father Franks Collins, whom Ed followed into the Electrician profession. All visitation and funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
