Ruby Carolene (Young) Henderson, age 85, of New Vienna, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Court House Manor Nursing Center in Washington Court House, Ohio. She was born May 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Andrew Franklin and Rose Ellen (Minzler) Young. Ruby was a member of Faith in Christ Church where she had been a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the Christan Group; she had driven school bus for New Vienna Elementary and East Clinton Schools for many years; Ruby loved to bowl and had bowled in several leagues in Greenfield, Hillsboro, and Wilmington; and she was serving as President of the Courthouse Manor Resident Council. Ruby was a beacon of love, her smile would light up a room, she will be missed by many. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Randy) Rider, Karen Hayslip, Alan (Amanda) Henderson, and Judy (Kevin) Croghan; Honorary sons, Ron Rigdon and Bill Burns; grandchildren, Nicole Rider, Bryan (Katie) Rider, Shane (Lisa) Rider, Matt (Aubrey) Rider, Ryan (Muriel) Hayslip, Kristina (Daniel) Adams, Olivia Hayslip, Aime Garen, Lynette (Denver) Pagett, Jana (Josh) Mayer, Jessica (Blake) Seaman, Samantha (Mark) Eyerly, Will Henderson, Kara (Caleb) Donaldson, Kylee (Cordell) Walters, Brendon (Trinity) Walters, Janielle (Todd) Runyon, David (Kayla) McCord, Nick (Leigha) McCord, Tausha (Steve) Young, and Tim (Karen) Croghan; great grandchildren, Brianna (Riley) Rider, Christopher Rider, Ruby Rider, Tuck Rider, Daniel (Chelsea) Adams, Levi Adams, Haley (Nathan) South, Reanna Adams, Christian (Hope) Hayslip, Kayle Smedley, Jared Smedley, Sierra Hunt, Christyanna Brown, Jayhvanna Captain, Valerie (Lincoln) Donaldson, Andrew (Courtney) Garen, Leah (RJ) Walker, Brittany (Steven) Parrish, Grant Mayer, Lani Mayer, Braxton Runyon, Clark Eyerly, Colin Eyerly, Landon Runyon, Lauren Runyon, Knox McCord, Brody McCord, Oakley McCord, Rendall McCord, Kent McCord, Kelsi (Jacob) Jones, and Owen Young; numerous great great grandchildren; brother Herman Young, sister-in-law Nancy (Gary) Hamilton; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece Lisa Hamilton; and countless friends. In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, David W. “Squeak” Henderson on July 10, 2023; son-in-law David Hayslip; brothers and sisters in law, Tom and Betty Young and Kenny and Sherry Young; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Glen Daye; and very special friend Joanne Gruber. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Faith in Christ Church, 11576 St Rt 28, New Vienna, Ohio 45159. Desiree Gruber will officiate. Burial Will follow in the New Vienna Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.
