Russell Leon "Russ" Bray, age 70, of Midland, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 23, 2024 at his home. He was born December 7, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Juirldine Bray. A world traveler and wine connoisseur, Russ was known as a history buff. He loved his trade as a horse trainer and had spent time in Murrieta, California training horses for the track at nearby Santa Anita. A loving father and grandfather, Russ loved his daughter and grandchildren very much. Russ is survived by his loving daughter, Anita Bray of Midland; grandchildren, Alina Sophia Toscano, Vincent R. Toscano and Silas Pacheco; siblings, Millie (Kenneth) Long of Hillsboro, Paul (Mary) Snider of Alabama and Jennifer Lynn (Bill) Melzer of Lebanon; and the love of his life, former wife, Angela Gloria (Sandoval) Bray of Burbank, California. In addition to his mother, Russ is preceded in death by the grandparents who raised him, Opal and Dillard Pridemore; and siblings, Donald Snider and Pauline Jolley. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Brown Funeral Home is assisting the family.
