Sarah Elizabeth (Byrd) Fox

Sarah Elizabeth Fox (Byrd), age 85, of Leesburg, Ohio, passed away June 17, 2024, at Greenfield Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Greenfield, Ohio. She was born March 8, 1939 in Oneida, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Riley and Cora Leigh (Sexton) Byrd. Sarah was an active homemaker and was a collector of knick- knacks, particularly being fond of elephants. She loved the Lord and loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and will be missed by her loving family. She leaves behind her two sons, Robert George (Tabitha) Knedler of Monroe, Ohio, and Allen "Kenny" Knedler of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) Gunning, Cody Gunning, Cory Gunning, Cheyenne Knedler, Chevyy Knedler, Dillon Knedler, Kaitlyn Hinkle, Tommy Gilliam, Matthew Gilliam and Gary Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Allyson Davis, Jordan Davis, Trenton Davis and Rilyn Derwort; nieces, Pam Upchurch and Sherry New; and brother, David (Mary Lou) Byrd. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, John Riley and Cora Leigh Byrd; daughter, Tonya Gunning; ex-husband, Robert George Knedler, Sr; sister, Martha Carson; nephew, Scott Hurd; and son-in-law, Enze Knisley. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday July 10, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. George Vastine will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service begins at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
