Sherry A. (DeBoard) Gerber

Sherry A. Gerber, age 62, of Sabina, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, as the result of an automobile accident near Bowersville, Ohio. She was born August 31, 1961, in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Charles and Shirley (Evans) DeBoard. Sherry was a long-time Physician Office Practice Manager. She began her career in healthcare at Clinton Memorial Hospital at the age of 18 as a nurse’s aide. She spent a large portion of her career managing the office of Dr. Kevin Sharrett, and most recently managing the new Kettering Health Network office in Springfield. She took great pride in her work, but the most rewarding part of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She doted over her grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to spoil them. Sherry is survived by her husband of 42 years, Scot Gerber, to whom she married February 20, 1982 in the Wilmington Church of Christ; children, Steven Gerber of Wilmington, Sean (Dr. Jennifer) Gerber of New Weston, Ohio, and Stacy (Aaron Pohly) Evans of Wilmington; grandchildren, Emma Gerber, Wyatt Gerber, Waylon Gerber, Greyson Evans, and Blakelee Evans; siblings, Randy (Vicki) DeBoard of Wilmington, Jeff DeBoard of New Vienna, Charles "Seymour” (Sherri) DeBoard of Cincinnati, and Mindy DeBoard of Wilmington; sister-in-law Julie DeBoard of Leesburg; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Caroline Gerber of Sabina, brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike (Leann) Gerber of South Carolina, Randy (Regina) Gerber of Wilmington, Jeff Gerber of Bainbridge, and Melissa (Tim) Alexander of Sabina; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and acquaintances she has made in her personal, and professional life. In addition to her parents, Sherry is preceded in death by three siblings, Toni Bisig, Kathy Deboard, and Tim Deboard. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Wilmington Church of Christ. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Visitations will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
