Steven Wayne Powell, age 74, of Sabina, passed away Friday, July 25, 2024, at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. He was born June 14, 1950, in Wilmington, Ohio, the son of the late John Rollo and Alice L. (Warlaumont) Powell. Steven W. Powell was a world-renowned radiator restoration and repair artist. His expertise and dedication to his craft earned him a respected reputation globally. Despite his prestigious projects, he always remained humble and grounded. Steve is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary M. (Collins) Powell, to whom he married December 27, 1974, at the home of Steve’s parents in Wilmington; daughter Stephanie Renea (James Pollard) McKinney of Sabina; grandchildren, Alexis McKinney of Dayton, Gabriel “G.J.” McKinney of Sabina, and Hannah (Zak Wilson) Fetters of Sabina; great grandson Dean Jude Wilson; and many friends and “Car Buddies” that he has met and worked with across the world. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by one sister Joyce Ann Powell; and one brother Phillip Powell. Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Family and friends are asked to bring a story about Steve to share. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
