Susan E. “Susie” Kienle, age 78, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at Shawnee Estates, in Xenia, Ohio. She was born October 15, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward C. and Winifred E. (Newberry) Kienle, Sr. Susie was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Susie was a 1965 graduate of Wilmington High School, and Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio. She began working with the Department of Defense, working at the Clinton County Air Force Base. She transferred to Eglin Air Force Base in the Florida panhandle, while there, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree with Troy University. From there she went to Williams Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona, before returning to Wright Patterson Air Force Base where she retired in 2008. In her spare time Susie loved to read. She also enjoyed concerts and any type of live music. Susie is survived by her sister, Anne E. (Andrew J. Rogers) Kienle-Garcia of Del Rio, Texas; brother Buddy (Robin Griggs) Kienle of Clarksville; nephews Cade Kienle and Andrew Kienle; and the many friends she made during her life. In addition to her parents, Susie is preceded in death by her infant sister Jane Kienle, and her brother Edward C. “Eddie” Kienle. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Deacon Bob Baker of St. Columbkille will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 until the time of service at 11:30 Thursday, at the funeral home.
