Tammy May Obituary

Tammy Lynn May (née Dixon), or affectionately known as “Aunt T,” age 50 of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at her residence. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. She was born on December 12, 1974, the daughter of the late Dwight and Sue (Powers) Dixon and the granddaughter of Elmer and Ethel Josephine Dixon of Westboro, OH.

Tammy was preceded in death by her husband, Greg May, with whom she had been married to for 26 years.

Her memory lives on with her twin sons, Zachary Dwight Clampitt and Zane Raymond Clampitt, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Her sister, Carolyne (Dixon) Rickey Davis of Hampstead, North Carolina, and her brother, Joey Dixon of Westboro, Ohio. Her nieces and nephews, whom she absolutely adored: Sidney (Kenny) Nelson of Rocky Point, NC; Brandon (Whitney) DuBois of Wilmington, NC; Abigail (Colin) Lang of Wilmington, NC; and Micah (Ku’uleilani) DuBois of Wilmington, NC. Joey Dixon Jr. of Mt. Orab, OH, Shawn Dixon of Mt. Orab, OH, Gabriel Dixon of Hillsboro, OH, and Harliegh Dixon of Morrow, OH. Tammy also leaves behind a dear family friend, Tom Hickey of Hillsboro, OH, and her two cats. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Tammy was a graduate of Blanchester High School. After high school, Tammy’s proudest accomplishments were her boys and her career in the United States Marine Corps, where she served as a Motor Vehicle Operator. During her service she received the Rifle Marksman Badge and National Defense Service Medal.

Tammy will be missed for so many reasons. She was young at heart, honest to her core, and had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving an impact on everyone who met her. She always spoke her mind with humor and was much stronger than she ever knew. She was independent and carried herself with humility. She sacrificed greatly, especially for those she loved. Tammy never knew a stranger, and she loved and protected her family fiercely.

A Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Tammy Lynn May will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Westboro United Methodist Church, 110 Jonesboro Rd, Midland, Ohio 45148. Visitation will be at 11am. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the convenience of the family in the Spring.

Tammy’s favorite color was purple. If you come to the Celebration of Life service, the family would love to see as much purple as possible.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to: WellSpan Philhaven, 283 Butler Rd, Lebanon, PA 17042. If you are unable to make a donation, she would ask that you perform an unexpected, unsolicited act of kindness in her name for someone less fortunate.
