Tammy Jo Vance, age 56, of Wilmington (New Antioch Community), passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was born October 17, 1969 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Howard Marvin and Rachel Anne "Stook" Freshour. Tammy was a 1988 graduate of Greenfield McClain High School and enjoyed playing softball during and after her school years. She was an avid Reds and Bengals fan that enjoyed watching games with her late father. After High School, she had worked at her uncle's video store and at Greenfield Research while working on obtaining her license as an LPN. After receiving her license, she had worked for several nursing facilities. After the emotional wear and tear of her occupation, Tammy opted for a change of pace and began working for the Fayette Regional Humane Society, taking loving care of God's creatures. A caring and nurturing woman, Tammy never met a stranger and gave her all at everything she did. She was blessed with a loving family and dear friends that will miss her tremendously. Tammy is survived by her loving husband. Theodore S. "Ted" Vance of New Antioch; her son, Anthony (Tosha) Freeze of Greenfield; her daughter, Rylee Ward of Wilmington; and her beloved grandchildren, Kaylinn and Maddy Vance, Kalliegh, Claire, and Kyndall Freeze. Along with her parents, Tammy is preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanne Mae Freeman and Shelley Noel. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Friends may visit from 2:30 p.m. until the service begins at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
