Thomas Ray "Tom" South, 70, of Sabina, died April 29th at Four Seasons of Washington C. H. after battling health issues for several years. Tom was born March 15, 1951 the son of Dr. Thomas Martin & Donna Louise (Murphy) South. He had attended East Clinton High School, Southern State Community College and graduated with honors from Wilmington College. Tom had spent time working with his father at River Downs Racetrack in Cincinnati. Tom enjoyed following the lives of his family members through their athletic events and professional growth and was an avid sports fan. Namely the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was passionate about his hometown of Sabina, Sabina Alumni events, and his involvement with the Church of Christ, Sabina 2000, and the Sabina Historical Society. He loved reminiscing with friends about the Golden Eagles, Astros, Quakers, and Buckeyes. Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, Doc and Donna South. He is survived by two sisters, Shan Pratt of Leesburg and Sherry (Bill) Arehart of Wilmington. Nieces and Nephews, Todd (Marsha) Fentress, Billy (Beth) Arehart, Nikki (Steve) Floyd, Chad (Kari) Fentress, Kristin Arehart, and Shanin (Russ) Richardson as well as 16 great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Minister Troy Villars will officiate. Brown Funeral Home in Wilmington is assisting the family. Contributions if desired may be made to East Clinton High School Athletic Boosters or Community Care Hospice in Tom's memory.
