Timmi Mahanes Obituary

Timmi Lynn Mahanes, age 18, of New Vienna, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, near Wilmington, as the result of an automobile accident.  She was born October 18, 2004, in Wilmington, the daughter of Timothy and Rochelle (Smart) Mahanes.  Timmi was a member of the Wilmington Church of God, where she was active in the youth group and church camp.  She was currently a senior at East Clinton High School. Timmi was a member of the National Honor Society, student council, and FFA.  She was known in the FFA community, both statewide, and nationally. Among her many achievements in FFA, she had placed first in the state in the Job Interview Competition. She was also active in 4-H, showing her projects at the Clinton County Fair. Timmi was involved in several athletic programs.  She was a member of the varsity football and wrestling programs. She was also active in track and golf and planned on playing on the tennis team in the spring.  Timmi was also involved in the arts.  She was cast as “Grandmama” in this year’s production of The Addams Family.  It would have been her 9th musical.  Timmi is survived by her parents, Tim and Chelle Mahanes; brother Zimri and sister Bella; maternal grandfather Robert F. Smart of Wilmington; paternal grandmother Frances Mahanes of New Vienna; aunts and uncles, Kay Longstreth of Wilmington, Kristin Longstreth of Wilmington; Robin (Kenny) Pickard of Wilmington, Tammy Watson of Utah, Teresa Mahanes of New Vienna, Tracie (Kenny) Tidwell of New Vienna, and Travis (Regina) Mahanes of Leesburg; several cousins; and her boyfriend, and love of her life, Zach Vest of New Vienna.  Timmi is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Carol Ann Smart, and paternal grandfather Norman Mahanes.  Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the Wilmington Church of God, 100 R. Gordon Drive.  Burial will follow in the New Vienna Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church, and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.  at the church.
