Truman Bell Stroop, Jr., age 85, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born March 10, 1937, in East Danville, Ohio, the son of the late Truman and Mary (McAdams) Stroop, Sr. Truman enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and Blue Grass music. He never met a stranger, he loved everyone, and all the local kids knew him as “Grandpa”, he will be missed. He is survived by his daughter, Elvira (Nathan Burns) Stroop; grandchildren, Kylie, Isaac, Faith, Zane, Lauren, Jaydon, and Hannah; great grandchild Kaidence; bonus daughters, Glenda (Duane) Beath, and Ruth Randolph; bonus son Frank Randolph; special grandson, Kevin (Beth) Kell; bonus grandchildren, Jason, Brandy, Christine, Holly, and Lil Duane; bonus great grandchildren, Heavenly Kell, Justin, Andrew, Samantha, Draven, Rayland, Ashlyn, Austin, Clayton, Elaina, Alexander, Austin, Dakota, Aliea, Hunter, Kinnley, Ryder, Blake, Destiny, Desiree, and many more; bonus great great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Gracelynn; special friends Cora Randolph, Stella Burns and Tracey Stone; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Truman is preceded in death by his long-time partner, Margie Randolph; bonus son, Terry Randolph; bonus grandson David Pettit; brother Orland “Boots” Stroop; sisters, Virginia Watters and Loretta Pegan; and best friend Marvin Gray. Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2022, at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Hamer Township Cemetery will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
