Virginia Carroll-Dalton Obituary

Virginia Carroll-Dalton
On November 10th, 2022, Virginia, after a 2-year illness, passed away peacefully with her husband and her daughter by her side. She was born February 2, 1936, in Manila, Arkansas to Vestal and Christina Choate. She is survived by her husband Roger V. Dalton and daughter Terri (Carlito) Abad of Vallejo, CA. Grand sons, David (Jessie) Wright of Dickson, Tennessee, Caleb (Melissa) Abad of Vallejo, CA. Joshua Abad of Elk Grove, CA., 4 great-grandchildren, 1 sister and 2 brothers. Virginia married Roger on June 9, 2001, in Reno, NV., which to her delight, added 5 adult children, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren to her life, to love and spoil. Those who knew Virginia, know how much she loved her grandchildren!
She married the love of her life and absolutely loved living in Ohio, on the farm. She planted her flower beds every year and had numerous plants hanging or sitting on the front porch and back deck. Virginia crocheted, did lots of crafts, especially with the women cousins, who would get together several times a year to craft or go on shopping trips. She liked to cook, was a great baker, her specialty was banana pudding. She was an avid reader. Danielle Steele was her favorite author and she also read her bible often. She loved to travel. She and Roger went on several cruises, multiple trips to California, Tennessee, Arkansas and states in between. They also spent every other year in Marco Island, Florida.
When Virginia left Motel 6 after 15 years to move to Wilmington, she was at the Wilmington Inn and Peebles. After retiring, she decided she could stay home and just volunteer in the gift shop at Clinton Memorial Hospital for a few years. She attended Immanuel Baptist Church and volunteered at the church as often as possible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, a brother-in law, her late husbands, David E. Wright and Charles R. Carroll and a bonus son, Dwain Dalton.
