Zackery Taliford Williams, Jr., also affectionately known as Z.T., at age 69 of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 9, 2022, at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on May 30,1952, in Sherrill, Arkansas, the son of Bernice Williams and the late Zackery Taliford Williams, Sr. Z.T. attended Altheimer High School, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) a historically black college and university (HBCU). Z.T. worked for International Paper Company (now Hood Packaging Corporation) and retired after forty-five years of service. He was involved in many non-profit organizations within the Wilmington area including Harvest of Gold, Inc. Z.T. had a love for many things including tennis, bowling and almost any sport that was played on television. However, his love for golf over the past twenty years, kept him full of life and out on the green…even past dinner time. Z.T. Williams was a faithful and loyal member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church where he served as chairman of the Deacon board and member of the praise team and choir. With the many nicknames Z.T. held, his most favorable one was Papa for his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. Z.T. is survived by the love of his life, his loving and cherished wife, Yvonner Faye; three daughters, Chavalle’ (Michael Dorsey, Sr.) of Baltimore, Maryland, Rashida (Carlton Smith) of Cleveland, Ohio, Tara Williams of Wilmington; two sons, Salih Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Zackery Taliford Williams, III (Jamie) of Wilmington; seven grandchildren (Kenny Pullin, Taija Walker, Tyler Williams, Michael L. Dorsey, Jr., Gabrielle Smith, Caitlyn Smith, Jailyn Smith). He is also survived by his dear mother Bernice Williams, five brothers (Elmos Frazier, Benjamin Williams, Ray Williams, Major Williams, Stanley Williams) and three sisters (Sandra Williams, Shirley Reed, Charlotte Williams). He was also adored by all his nieces and nephews and cousins alike. Z.T. is preceded in death by his father, Zackery T. Williams, Sr. and brother, Abraham Williams. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 starting at 11:00 AM at Fellowship of Praise, 8625 US 22 East, Clarksville, Ohio, 45113. The Homegoing Celebration Service will follow at 12:00 PM. The Celebration will be led by Dr. Kurtis Summerville. Burial will immediately follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
